SHERI SUBLETT

Co-Founder & Director of Wildlife Programs

With over two decades of experience in wildlife care and conservation, Sheri is the driving force behind TPFECF. She holds state and federal permits across multiple agencies—including U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) and works closely with organizations such as Texas A&M University, Smithsonian Institution, Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), and Zoological Association of America (ZAA) accredited partners. Sheri specializes in the care and management of rare carnivores and exotic species such as leopard cats, fishing cats, African wildcats, bobcats aardwolfs, aardvark, hyena, bat eared fox, kangaroo, ostrich leopards, sloths and genets.

She also leads the foundation’s conservation programming, including international collaborations and research-based partnerships. Sheri develops hands-on educational opportunities that foster public awareness, species protection, and responsible animal stewardship.

JIM SUBLETT

Director of Facilities/Animal Care & Diet

Jim oversees the design, construction, and upkeep of animal enclosures and infrastructure at TPFECF. With over 20 years of experience in animal husbandry, medical care, and facility operations, he plays a critical role in ensuring that every habitat is safe, secure, and built to support species-specific welfare and enrichment.

In addition to his engineering and construction work, Jim is highly skilled in the hands-on care and medical management of exotic species. He specializes in hand-rearing neonates and has extensive experience administering injections, IV and subcutaneous fluids, performing tube feedings, and carrying out detailed and often tedious medical procedures. His calm precision and deep understanding of animal behavior make him a trusted caregiver during critical care situations.

Jim has also formulated his own specialized marsupial diet and serves as the in-house chef for our insectivores—including aardvarks, aardwolves, bat-eared foxes, tamanduas, and others—ensuring tailored nutrition based on species-specific needs.

Combining practical strength with a deep passion for animals, Jim’s contributions to husbandry, medical care, and enrichment are foundational to TPFECF’s daily operations and long-term mission. His dedication helps uphold the high standards of care and innovation the foundation is known for.
